On February 13, the day of the blizzard, a local family lost their home. In part, it was because the fire trucks couldn’t get through the drifts in time. The home, which was only about five years old, was a total loss. The McKees have two children, a son and a daughter. Susan McKee is a Scout leader and both children have participated in library programs for several years. Susan was one of the Scout moms who served the meal to all those who helped us move last month.
A fund has been set up for the family at the Sidell Bank. People are asked to mail contributions to the Fire Relief Fund, Sidell Bank, P.O.Box 50, Sidell, Ill 61876. Contributions may also be dropped off at the Homer Bank, a branch of the Sidell bank.
